There is something quite magical about a fairy tale. Steeped in ancient story-telling traditions from all over the world, fairy tales contain deep archetypal elements of light and dark, hope and despair, hero and victim and a world where magic is an everyday occurrence. Above all, some would say that they are teaching stories – that bypass the conscious mind and send powerful messages of hope and encouragement to our hearts and souls. No wonder children love them – they are not yet occupied by the world…

Once upon a time… is a selection of some of the greatest of these tales, retold for a new generation and illustrated beautifully on the front and back of the card. Inside each card will be found a folded piece of paper looking just like an ancient parchment on which is set out the story itself for children to read – or for parents and others to read to them when they go to bed…….

Our vision is to bring poetry to a much wider audience – both in the UK and worldwide and this range of cards would not have been without the help of the many authors, copyright holders and publishers who have granted their permission for the use of their work. Soul Trader would like to extend their thanks and kind appreciation to all those whose work is fully acknowledged on the card concerned. While every effort has been made to track down and contact all copyright holders, either directly or through their agents, this has not always been possible.
